We are excited to be part of a multi-PI, multi-disciplinary project entitled “Disentangling movement, sensation, and cognition in Parkinson’s Disease through measurement, manipulation, and machine learning”.  This grant provides support for high-risk, technology driven research in Parkinson’s Disease.

The Systems Level projects will be led by PIs Lena Ting, Michael Borich, Svetlana Miocinovic, and J. Lucas McKay.

The Circuits Level projects will be led by PIs Garrett Stanley, Jeff Markowitz, Annabelle Singer, Bilal Haider.

We are looking forward to working with the team to develop and use technologies in transgenic models of Parkinson’s disease.

We presented two posters on our lab’s work on visual spatial attention at the 10th Anniversary BRAIN Initiative PI meeting.

We had a great time catching up with colleagues and peers.

Bilal co-organized (along with Robert Liu) a two day workshop on “Sense and Salience” (meeting agenda and speaker list), held at the Emory Center for Mind, Brain, and Culture (CMBC).  The workshop explored and debated current thinking and future directions for sensory neuroscience.

It was a very enjoyable and collegial two days with leaders in the field of sensory systems.

Thanks to Robert, the CMBC staff, and all the speakers and participants for an amazing workshop!
